This practical and theoretical training provides participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to safely handle Personal Protective Equipment Against Falls (PPEA-F) when working in fall-risk environments. The training follows the guidelines of the German Social Accident Insurance (BG) and the Global Wind Organisation (GWO).


Training Content

  • Legal foundations and user responsibilities
  • Identifying and assessing hazards when working at height, especially on moving structures
  • Application, handling, maintenance, and care of protective equipment
  • Material science related to fall protection systems
  • Use of climbing protection systems from various manufacturers
  • Redundant securing methods for working at height
  • Selection and evaluation of appropriate anchor points
  • Techniques for self-rescue and assisted rescue (active and passive) from climbing systems, access equipment, and specialized work areas
  • Evacuation from confined spaces
  • Safe handling of fall arrest and rescue lifting devices

Target Audience

This training is designed for professionals working in fall-risk environments, such as those involved in the construction, operation, maintenance, and servicing of wind turbines or other elevated infrastructures.


Prerequisites

  • Physical fitness
  • Valid occupational medical examination (G41 certification)
  • Proof of a current first aid course (at least 9 instructional units in accordance with DGUV Regulation 1)

Training Conditions

  • Maximum participants: 12
  • Duration: 2 days (total of 14 hours)

Certification & Documentation

Upon successful completion, participants receive:

  • A certificate
  • An entry in the safety passport
  • Registration in the GWO database (WINDA)

Certificate Validity

  • GWO Certificate: Valid for 2 years
  • PPEA-F Certificate (DGUV-compliant): Valid for 1 year

Required Equipment

Participants should bring:

  • Protective work clothing
  • Safety shoes
  • Weatherproof clothing
  • Work gloves

If participants wish to use their own PPEA-F, they must provide proof of an expert inspection. Otherwise, free rental equipment will be provided for the duration of the training.
