The GWO Hub, Spinner and Inside Blade Rescue (HSIBR) module provides specialized training for rescuing casualties from the most restricted and difficult-to-reach areas of a wind turbine. This course focuses on the highly technical skills required to navigate and extract an injured person from the rotating parts of the turbine and the interior of the blades.
What You Will Learn
Blade Interior Rescue: Techniques for navigating the narrow, horizontal spaces inside a turbine blade to retrieve a casualty.
Hub & Spinner Extraction: Advanced methods for vertical and horizontal movement within the confined hub and spinner areas.
Specialized Rescue Equipment: Expert use of power-ascenders, specialized stretchers, and spinal immobilization kits in tight spaces.
Casualty Management: Ensuring the safety and stability of a patient while moving through narrow hatches and obstacles.
Manual & Power-Assisted Hauling: Mastering the mechanical advantage needed to lift or lower casualties in restricted environments.
Key Benefits
Expert Qualification: Represents the highest level of specialized rescue competency in the wind industry.
Targeted Skills: Essential for blade technicians and maintenance teams working in the “business end” of the turbine.
GWO Advanced Standard: Fully compliant with Global Wind Organisation Advanced Rescue Training (ART) protocols.
